Call Of Juarez Bound In Blood
by Welshman - Jul 01, 2009 - 9:08 PM
The new game from Techland and Ubisoft has been released today..Call Of Juarez (Prononced Wahrez) Bound In Blood
http://callofjuarez.au.ubi.com/#/main

Graphics..easily on Par with CoD4/5 with excellent AA qualities. Sound...Again excellent and the voice acting is top notch too (So good I find Myself talking in a Southern drawl and shouting Dae Ya Yankee Scurm, while whistling Dixie...We Whoop em that Time Din We Jozzie).

As You can guess it's set in the Old West and You play the part of Two Brothers, Thomas and Ray McCall, starting out in 1865 towards the end of the Civil war as soldiers in the Confederate Army around Atlanta who then desert To get back to their Mothers farm because the Rebs are pulling back and will leave that area defenceless against Shermans Army. You start the Game by switching Roles between Thomas and Ray (later on I believe You can choose to stay as one or the other which gives the game some replay value) and work as a team (Which is why i'm suprised there no actual Co-Op mode)
Features

"Consentration mode" you get this by increasing a Bar (in this case a spindle from a six shooter) then pressing a key You will enter it and time slows down, For Ray, You run the Mouse over multiple targets and press the same key again and He will draw 2 pistols and automatically take out each marked target...for Thomas, you get to auto aim and then press the fire key and pull the mouse backwards and He will "fan' his revolver.

"Auto Cover" get near a box, wall, tree etc and You auto matically go into cover from which you can shot around/behind so a lean function is not needed or applied in... [Read More]
Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
by jumphonner - Jun 28, 2009 - 7:34 PM
On Saturday 27 June 2009 a surpise 50th birthday party was held for one of the most loved Online Dawdler members - Fezza.

A number of the Sydney members of OLDr! made their way to the Amity Court chinese restaurant in Bass Hill and waited to spring the trap laid skillfully by Fezza's daughter.

The OLDr! brigade consisted of Citizen Zed, Head, Morevodka, Ranger, Minnysmum, MissHonnerMe and yours truley. Zeddie was ably assisted by Paula and Vampey's favourite venty sound maker - Feral Berryl AKA Miss Jayde. We were also helped by our old friend TUB Groovr.

Anyways, to say Fezza was surprised is an understatement.

A great night was had, sampling the chinese banquet and various alcoholic beverages.

However, the real surprise for this reporter was what happened when the karaoke machine was fired up. It seems that Fezza and his blood line have been blessed with some amazing singing voices that this reporter can only be jealous of.

A fantastic night was had by all. Thanks Renee for the invite and happy birthday you old bugger Fezza!

D-Day Shoot Out
by jumphonner - Jun 05, 2009 - 10:43 PM
"You are about to embark upon the great crusade toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you...I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle." General Dwight D Eisenhower

Saturday 6 June 2009 marks the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings upon the Normandy coast by the Western Allies in WW2.

In honor of these brave men, the Online Dawdlers are holding a D-Day Shoot Out on our Muffin server.

The theme of the day will be D-Day, so we are running D-Day'ish themed custom maps.

So get along from 8pm AEST onwards till late and honour those men who helped destroy the evil that was Nazi Germany.

Lest we forget.

AFL/NRL Tipping Roundup - Week 4
by CFodder - Apr 22, 2009 - 6:04 PM
Again it seemed to be a hard week for the tipsters in both the AFL and NRL with scores being low and even not a lot of winners picked.

AFL

Most games in the AFL were pretty close with the exception of St Kilda whipping Fremantle by 83 points. After 4 rounds there are now only 2 teams unbeaten and at the other end of the scale 2 without wins thus far.

The biggest movers of the round are Fezza who scored a very credible 34 points, and moves up to 6th place, and Hossy - well it's a bit of a stretch calling him a mover as he managed score our very first duck for the round! Congrats Hoss, your prize will be in the mail.

Stats

Most Points: 34 - Feral
Least Points: 0 - Hossy
Most Wins Picked: 6 - Feral
Least Wins Picked: 0 - Hossy
Ave Points this Round: 14.5

NRL Round 4 Recap
by CFodder - Apr 07, 2009 - 7:08 PM
Was certainly an interesting round last weekend, who would've thought that after 4 rounds the Rabbitoh's would top the table?? They might not stay there for long but they do have a reasonably good team and, after their last few less than stellar seasons, well done to them. Of course I'd like them that little bit more if they hadn't beaten the Warriors to get to the top!

Was a hard round to tip on starting with the Bronco's getting beaten by St George and at Brisbane's home ground too no less. The other two upsets was the Gold coast Titans beating the Melbourne Storm at Olympic Park and Souths toppling the Warriors at their home bastion.

Other results of interest were Manly continued their poor form and now have no wins from their matches, a bit of a come down from being last years Premiers, and Canberra notching their first win of the season.

As I've done with the AFL here's some basic stats on last rounds tipping:

AFL Round 2 Roundup
by CFodder - Apr 06, 2009 - 6:02 AM
All of the results have been calculated and tables updated. It was an interesting round there with some big movements on our leaderboard, probably most notable are Hicks going from last place to 3rd with a whopping 40 points for the round including a maximum 7 points extra for the bonus game . On the negative side Joker dropped from 1st to 5th and Hossy 6th to 9th.

Some stats for the round are:

Most Points: 40 - Hicks
Least Points: 2 - MissB
Most Wins Picked: 7 - Cerbz, Hicks, Loki & Jump
Least Wins Picked: 1 - Hossy, MissB
Most Margins Picked Correctly: 4 - Loki

Things are starting to spread out a bit now with the teams as well, althought it has only been 2 rounds, with only 4 having the maximum 8 points from the 2 completed rounds.

Don't forget to get your picks in people,... [Read More]
Round 2 Roundup
by OLDr Admin Team - Mar 24, 2009 - 5:04 PM
Well it was actually the first round for our tipping comp but second for the NRL. All results have been put up, the leaderboard updated and the games for round 3 posted.

There were a few interesting results in Round 2 and a few games where very few people managed to pick the win, notably the Raiders v Roosters and Knights v Sharks..., let alone the correct margin. Shows how tricky the tipping can be in the early rounds of the competition ... out of a possible maximum of 56 points the most scored was 23!!

Currently leading the competition is Hicks on 23 points, closely followed by Hossy and Cerbz on 20 apiece. All three were on 20 points with the last game to be played. At the other end of the competition it's good to see it being held up by the admin team with Fezza and CFodder on 7 and 3 points respectively (with CFodder only getting his points on the last game of the round!!!).

Honourable mention should go to Loki who joined late and could only... [Read More]
