    oh kay...

noticed an interesting thing the other day...

took 4 secs to transfer a file using win xp on an old athlon 64/ 3200, to a "standard" usb pen drive.

with vista, and using an athlon64/ x2 with twice the ram it takes 39 secs.

    go vista!

well, back to linux i go...

Must be something to do with your system, I use Vista 32 and Vista 64 and it's instant for files, I actually found it faster when transferring larger files than with XP.

possibly, though its a pretty 'clean' install. i've noticed vista has an awful lot of overhead though :)

You need sp1 for vista to fix the file transfer problem.
